Out of curiosity do the spokes have a W stamped on the head ?

Now you have me curious, just looked and there is something stamped on the end but not a W, looks more like either an S or an 8, my eyes aren't what they used to be. Anyone know what they are? I am familiar with the Wheelsmith W but not the S or 8.

Looking at the close up of the front hub the sudden butting is typical of Wheelsmith, but's it not quite clear how quick it is. I absolutely love that look on a spoke.

(Wrong thought : S probably = Sapim, I don't know Sapim spokes.)
S = ACI Alpine DB (I think A is ACI's PG spoke ?)
Sapim don't brand the head, but brand the length of the spoke somewhere apparently

Nice to see double butted spokes though, the amount of top end hubs with top end rims even lighter spoke pattern 2x / radial that then go and use cheaper PG spokes does my nuts in.

Surely the irony is they are DT hubs
