Donohue 853 frame, campag record components.

I have spent 2 years trying to find this bike but in reality its too small for me. Its in very nice original condition with what appears to be little wear on the components which are all record, even down to the hubs. The frame is nice, original paint, no dents just cable rub.

I am a Donohue collector and not only was he one of our finest steel frame builders in the day when steel was the material of choice but 853 was his best and he doesn't make frames anymore, a rare classic.

I need to sell so that I can start the hunt for another just a bit bigger. The frame is 56cm seat tube and 60cm top tube, both centre to centre. I want £400 for the frame alone or £700 for the complete bike. Both plus postage or collect from Teesside.

Hi, nice looking bike. I'm tempted by a road bike and British steel would be great. Just a tentative feeler really, what size rider would this suit? Excuse my MTB-focused ignorance! At worst, have a bump!

I'm 6,1 and I can ride it OK as you see it in the pictures but I want to drop the stem lower and have a bit less seat tube showing. 5,10 give or take a couple of inches would suit.

Yes it was on eBay. The seller told me it was a 58 and it turns out its a 56. Rather than send it back I thought I would describe it properly and offer it to some people who know what they are looking at. If I get no interest I intend splitting it, putting the record group onto one of my bikes and selling the frame on. Just put the option of the whole bike as an option before I split it.
