Did I get a bargain?

I brought this bike on eBay for £38, does anyone have any idea what it is?
There's a serial no. On the bb but it's only 4 digits 2532?? Can't find anything else on it that would help!

From the lug work alone it looks like a bargain. Did you buy frame only, frame and fork or whole bike?

Is the first picture what it looked like on ebay? If so it's either a trick of the light or you got a different frame to the one advertised (the pic from ebay makes it look black, but it is obviously light green/blue)

It does look nice, though, the headtube lugs look very much like the Carlton ones on my wife's 1959 Continental. I would say it's not a Carlton, though due to the BB cutouts and one or two other things.

I've stripped it since getting it, looked like they'd had painted it very poorly. The original color was red under the dodgy paint. What could the cc stand for as I know the carlton Raleigh pros had this cutout?

I should add I am happy to proved wrong, though.

In fact I would be overjoyed to proved wrong as it would change what I know about Carltons.

FWIW I will try to find a pic of my wife's bike, and it's lugs so you can see what I mean.

Actually, looking at it, the pointy bit comes too far up to be Crepera, see this pic:

And i realise now (should take more notice of the bike I got refurbed and then rebuilt for her) that I should take more notice of my wife's bike...

Her's has Capella lugs, thus:

Strange......BB looks like Raleigh Carlton from the late 70's but the rest of the bike, lugs and braze ons look from a bike much older. Not like any Carlton I have seen.
