I have just got a pair of these

shoes with velcro and laces but am not sure how you should lace them up. They have lace holes on the front flap which you can see then the usual row of 5 holes underneath the flap(to the outside of the shoe). They also have holes in the tounge but I assume these are not used for lacing. So basicaly how should you lace the holes underneath to the front flap?

Any info appriciated! Tim

My guess would be that you lace the shoes in the normal way and ignore the outer flap. You may find a loop on the tongue that you can pass the lace through as you go to stop the tongue slipping. Secure the outer flap just using the velcro - possibly with a velcro ankle strap over it if there is one. The spare holes will be for ventilation (or to look nice). I have two pairs of shoes that are laced this way.
