Determining suitable wheel size

Retro Newbie
Hi all,

I have recently purchased an old steel frame (http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82476) and I'm unsure what size of wheel is suitable. I'm hoping to fit some 700c wheels but don't have any at hand to test.

I've took some measurements but I'm unsure of the best way to measure.

The measurement I took of the fork clearance was about 365mm (from centre of the axle). The clearance on the back (to the brake mount) is about 370mm.

Do those measurements seem sufficient for 700c wheels?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Should be fine for 700's & standard calipers, that's how my '87 Raleigh measures, but I do have another frame which is only 345 in the rear; that's limited to 20mm tyres!
Looks like a nice frame, I'd say late 80's by that fork crown, there's others on here would be better at identifying the marque. Enjoy building & riding it!
