DBR Axis TT -- What to do?

Cheers all, my credit card is already worried...although there are few new bikes I do really like the look of, there are plenty of older bikes that catch my eye, too.

Somehow, the just look 'better', like a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL looks better than a newly-built SLR...

You're right about Cambridgeshire, Jango, hardly mountain bike heaven, and although I do look jealously at the disc brakes on my wife's bike, the XT v-brakes haven't let me down yet.

I promise I'll get some pics up soon :)

By the way, anybody seen this site: www.bikehike.co.uk

Very useful, spotted it in a post on Bike Radar.

Apart from fork travel and discs, is there really that much difference between retro and new hardtails? Buying modern I would always go for a full-susser for comfort and versatility - latest review of budget (under £1000) FS in MBR kinda proves the point and they are doing a direct comparison between the winner and the winner of the £1000 HT test next month - keep an eye out.

I have my retro kona which is my commuter/every day bike (but kinda finding itself ready to go offroad again - don't tell Mrs SB), my FS which is my toy and hopefully a project in the not-too-distant future which will be anything from a hang on the wall and be happy to own it or a dogs dinner or a blast for a couple of hours playing in nice weather!

Some of the things the guys make on here are art - no other way of putting it. I have prints on my walls that I would willingly swap - they are that pretty, so it is each to his own. Build em, ride them or just enjoy owning them - as long as it brings a smile to your face, who gives a stuff?
