Dawes Super Galaxy tandem 531 / Longstaff

Heres a photo of our Dawes Super Galaxy tandem.
Brought in 1988 (by me and my mom) new it was soon stripped (well drag brake, mudguards & rack) and raced by me and a mate to some success, won 1 open 25TT and broke the course record and a few top 5 placings over the course of 1 season - then job changes soon messed me up.
So with my dad 75 and mom 69 they decided they want to use it again. my dad feels hes not strong enough to hold my mom up at junctions etc. So utalising a Longstaff trike conversion dad brought 2nd hand about '97 we set about coverting it. i had a set of unused Campag Moskov Rims so built the wheels up with those.

Nice conversion but I bet the rear weighs a ton now..............

Yip it does, it wasnt the lightest machine out there anyway, even with it being 531.

The struggle is getting it in the garage to work on. It wont go through a normal width door so down the passage way where the hubs actually skim the gate posts and in through the front. PITA lol

Pretty sure you could lob off 4-6" from either side to make the rear wheels narrower...... If you ever wanted to......
