Sorry, just had to post this... just been on a 'family potter' on the bikes. Eldest daughter decided she didn't want stabilizers so whipped out the tool kit, popped them off and off she went, like a little rocket. Spot on. Proud dad. :) (wipe away the tears moment).

That's great Paul, amazing how once they're ready it comes so naturally.

My eldest daughter decided to do the same last Summer, sadly I was at work and missed it. I thought that she wasn't ready because she'd been struggling on her balance style bike, but her grandad took the stabilisers off her proper bike and she got it after a few runs down the garden.

There's been a fair few offs since, she has a habit of turning the bars a bit sharpish and then getting into what I can only describe as a "tank slapper" :D .

Lovely moment, mate. :)

Only off of the day was me - dropped myself and the Zaskar sideways on to her bike earlier (was larking around, riding side saddle down the alley to the field and fell in the wrong direction. :D )

However, I am expecting a few pile ups - probably tank slappers like you say. Think stabilizers change the riding style so much that it's inevtiable. And yes, I have been riding her bike to find out. :D

Looking forward to some family rides in the summer now. She's dead chuffed though. :)
