I am sure I saw a thread somewhere about dating Zaskars from serial numbers.

Can someone remind me please?

Depending upon the year the serial number will be stamped on either the outside or inside of the left rear dropout. The first four numbers indicated the month and year of manufacture. If you have a frame dated September of later it's actually the next model year frame. The top picture below is a 16" frame produced in January of 1999 and is stamped on the outside of the left rear dropout. The bottom picture is of a 14.5" frame produced in September of 1992 but it's actually a 1993 model year frame. Hope this helps

Many thanks. It's a 93.

How many years were they made and were there many mods along the way?

I see they re-released a limited amount recently. Thats what encouraged me to dig mine out.

Late 1990 to current and yes there have been many mods along the way. Hundreds of posts on this forum regarding Zaskars. I suggest you start by filling your mug and using the search field.

I have been looking through the threads. Plenty of food for thought and some very nice work among them.

(Must remember to search in one tab and read in another though. Webpage expired...grrrr)

whats' the date on this zaskar then ?

I've had four in the past with no serial number and a couple marked "BLEM" that had anodizing issues around the welds. Yours isn't on the inside of the dropout?

No seriel number on this one at all. Just the frame size of 18. Ive not seen one like this before.
