I'd back up Ed's comment on the gilet - great as an extra layer.
Mine has a windproof front - which really keeps the chill off.
I have also been known to wear it under other tops - you get the benefit of the gilet and still show off your fancy RB threads
I love my Shutt VR jersey - comfy, warms me up in about thirty seconds, even if it's nippy outside. I've had it for a year and it still looks like new, and the design / styling is on the money. I'll be going back for a long sleeved jersey this winter...
Ask Father Christmas for a full price on, or bag one reduced in their sale section.
horribly horrid but the Polaris gilet or jacket that is safety yellow and orange plus reflective bits is very visible in this manky weather.
When its really nasty I dig out my wool Campag tights. Bought them with my student grant in 1983 from Barry Davies's shop in Bangor. The chamois has long since died but they are wonderful in wet weather.
Is purple cool again. I have a nice purple jacket that great fir winter use.
primark as daft as it sounds do a good underlayer as well...my recommendation would be fingerless gloves, sure you look like a hobo but they actually keep your hands warmer than gloves with fingers.
