Cycling in Brussels - Sonian Forest?

Anyone have any knowledge of the area?

I'll be in Brussels for business and have been offered a bimble around the Sonian Forest, just wondered what it is like? I imagine it'll be much like any other forest...

Hi Paul,
I live right adjacent to the Bois de la Cambre/Kamerenbos which runs out into the Foret de Soignes/Zonienbos. As you guess, it's a pretty standard-issue forest right next to a capital city so don't bring your 8" freeride rig! I normally ride a rigid bike and as often as not a singlespeed once the weather is warmer and I'm fitter.

If you can get further afield to eg Overijse or Meerdael then the terrain is more varied. But having said that, having 20+ sq. km less than a minute from my front door is bloody great, even if it's predominantly flat. My local club run night rides twice a week which is even better.
