Whilst doing my bi-weekly shop at Sainsburys on monday I picked up a wireless computer, being sold of for £4.99 reduced from £15.

Its a cheap but function packed thing and i was mighty pleased with it.

I used it for the first time this morning on my way into work checking the trip time showed just under 14 minutes.

Sat at my desk did a few minutes work then picked up the computer again to check the other stats, odly i noticed the trip time had gone to 14:08...strange.

On closer inspection it seems the computer is picking up interference put out by my PC TFT displays, infact holding it close to the screen sets the thing going crazy (my top speed is now 72mph).

This has done 2 things, made me question what the hell that radio energy is doing to me? and also does this happen on more expensive, better known make cycle computers?

The wife got me a £25 computer for Christmas, and it did that to me when I put it down next to her laptop.

Cant comment on the likes of Cateye etc though, as this is the first time I've used a computer for 10+ years.

Oh, and can you let me know if yours works in the extreme cold. The last couple of times I've ridden with my computer it has been freezing, and it hasn't worked.
The batteries are fine, as it works up in the house (ie the display comes on), so I dont know if its the cold or a loose connection etc thats causing the problem???

This has always been a problem with every cycle computer I've ever used - LCD displays get really slow at low temperatures, before deciding not to work at all when it's really cold.

It'd be worth replacing the batteries too, just in case - they'll also work better when they're warm than when they're cold, and weak batteries will stop working quicker than fresh ones in those conditions.
