Custom Klein road bike - VERY U.S.A. paint

From the frame and updated Klein logo it's definitely a post 2000 bike. From the paint and why someone would want such a thing on their bike, I'm guessing the paint is somewhere from 2002 to 2004 during the dark ages of the George Bush administration and belonged to someone from Texas.

To be honest, before finding this site, I too had never heard of Kona. I used to read Mountain Bike Action pretty regularly in 1993-1995 and from what I remember, they tended to feature these brands the most:

GT
Specialized
Pro Flex
Yeti
Ritchey

There was also some sprinkling in of Mountain Cycles, Cannondale and a few others but for the life of me, I can't remember ever reading about or seeing a Kona either in their magazine or in a bike shop. My memory isn't the best though :shock:

Kona advertised in it. I have a 94 issue with a large one page color ad for the hei hei.
