Crusader bikes

Dirt Disciple
Anyone know who Crusader were? I am restoring a ladies Crusader California mtb and can't find anything about them. It does have some unusual components, Schurmann alloy rims and SPS crankset, which to me makes it different to other importers. It is from 1997.

BSO= bike shaped object as Fagin has mentioned.

Generally these are mass produced in the far east and the same bike will have several different "manufacturers" stickers on them. Will almost always be let go into dissrepair because they were so cheap in the first place and break easily and when like yours, it will probably cost more to make rideable than it will ever be worth.

Unless you have a special attachment to it, save your money and let it go when it needs repairs above £20 because that is all it's worth.

Re: Crusader

Thanks guys, not for me, it was given to me to send on to Re-Cycle who send them to Africa. I give them a service and send them on. I was looking for info on the crankset as I needed it off to lube the bottom bracket as it was stiff. The cranks were bolted on to a square tapered shaft but did not have threads to use a crank pull tool. In the end a big screwdriver and a mallet did the trick!

The manufacturer didnt bother with threads as they never expected the bike to last long enough to have the BB replaced!?!?!?!?
