crazy computer.

since i have had my computer, i have 2 issues.

1. when i shut the thing down, sometimes it likes to start itself up again, all on its own.

2. sometimes i have to shut it down & restart 2 - 3 times before the mouse will work.

has anyone else had these problems.

i'm running windows vista.

does anyone know how to sort these problems before i take a lump hammer to this crazy computer.

Initially I thought the PSU might be wonky (I have one of those too, and my PC often fails to boot), but that doesn't explain the mouse bit.

Sounds like the motherboard is sending a pulse to the PSU to give power. As for the mouse, that could be a motherboard problem too. It'd be the first thing to check out.
Unfortunately you can't just go ahead and swap in a different MoBo, so if it were my own PC I'd get in touch with a proper technician.

Do you have an Ethernet cable plugged in? If so, does it still restart by itself with that cable is removed?

In the BIOS there is usually a setting called 'wake on LAN' or something similar. Have a look and see if that is enabled.
