I was due to be picking up a brand new specialized epic comp on saturday.
I ordered it last weekend in a shop in leeds on a 3 yr interest free deal, they were meant to inform me when all the written approval from the finance company was in place, then I was going to drive up from oxford to collect on saturday.
I called today to check if all was in order, and was informed they had not recieved the written version of the finance approval yet (it had been approved over the phone but they need it in writing)
I called back in 5 mins as requested, while they chased up the details.
I was told the paper work from the shop hadnt reached the finance company yet, they claim to have sent it on monday.
Ive had to send my father to the shop to re-issue the details I gave last week.
They are going to have to send me by fax the new form to sign off, im going to have to post it back then they need to get approvement from the finance company again.
So now my new bike is delayed for at least another week before I can get up to leeds and pick it up.
On top of this my Dad made a good point, the bike shop posted my details, name, address, drivers lisence, bank details in a normal envelope addressed to a finance company and it didnt arrive. Essentially an all in one ID theft kit posted in normal post!!! what the feck do they think they are playing at?!?!?
It wouldnt take a genious to snatch mail destined for a finance company in order to get details, but sending it un recorded is retarded.
Im now going to have to go to the bank and get their advice on what to do.. which may well feck up the re-order process.
