Crank Polishing

Is it still a thing?
I have far too many hanging up in the shed, so it got me thinking about ways to tart them up and bring back into service.
Sadly it doesn't help, that it's often cheaper to buy a whole new chainset for the chainrings alone.:(
I know they will fade back to dull in time, but hey.

Bloody hell. I need to get on the polishing bus. I have a set of RS1's that are showing their age, and this has inspired me to get rubbing!

I used to do this a lot bitd when cranks got too many marks, or were black LX and could look like xtr with paint remover and a polish.

After getting them to a shine, worth waxing to keep them looking good for longer. I used to use a good car wax but I'm sure there are better options.

Used to wax tan walls to help them stay cleaner for longer too.
