crank bolts ugh....

hello retro nuts ! i have old middleburn cranks rs 1s i got i.d. inner ring bolts that fit fine but i i got a pack of a2z bolts that wont tighten all the way up do i need washers ? or middleburn only bolts ? or some other make shorter ? thanks allmost built my old ride now

swap the ally inners for steel ones - that usually works

or fit thicker rings

or washers

cheers i have all middleburn rings so want to use these ..will try some 1mm washers or different bolts cheers

If the A2Z ones are alloy, try giving the backs a bit of a going over with a fine file to take a bit of meat off them. You won't see nothin' when they're all put together.
T'll only work if they're only a 'bit' too long though, otherwise the threads could stick out too far at the back, you can always take a bit off the ends of these too, but I won't look as pretty.
