Retro Newbie
Hi All . I have posted on here before with a Falcon Pro Line i picked up for a few quid off ebay . I did it up a bit and used it for a few longish rides (50 miles ) and commuting , i wanted to see if i liked it as i'm more used to mountain bikes . I found i like riding it and it's easier to keep pace with my Husband , Him on his hybrid . I soon started looking for a higher quality bike , 531 tubing and better components . So when this Touristique came up i went for it . Over a week of afternoons i have bare metaled it and resprayed it ( about 3 shades darker than the original silver )Re decaled it and gone through all bearings , cables , tyres etc and put it back together . The little i've managed to read about them on the net seems to suggest they were low volume good quality . It certainly rides nice , I have done a few 20 mile rides , and have a longer one planned this weekend . Ant info on the bike would be great . Here's a few pics of Her . Looks like they're in reverse order , sorry about that .

Re:

Nice job! It looks as good as new and I do like that chainset. I have a soft spot for Coventry Eagles, I got back into cycling after I pulled one out of a skip a few years ago. The frame has now gone but several of the other components march on in a couple of my other builds. Keep up the good work!

Re:

Thanks . Yep i'm pleased with it , I have swapped saddle bag , pump , and new bottle holder over from my Falcon and plan on a 30ish mile shake down ride on Saturday . The Rover is my other passion , the cycling/commuting offsets Her carbon foot print ( a bit ! ) P6 national rally at Blenheim Palace this weekend . As for the Eagle , i'd like to find out a bit more about them , seems like a really well put together thing with nice components .

Re:

hi any chance a frontal of the head badge ? i worked with a coventry man recently, he told me that the shop/workshop ? was in eagle rd.

Re:

Hi , yeah , had a look through my pics and not a clear shot of the front . We are off for a blast in a bit , i will take one and post it tonight . Also had a girl off the internet make up the missing " Touristique " graphic for the top tube , hoping that's turned up when we get back .

Re:

Hi, reading your post i assume you thought it would have an actual badge rather than a graphic . Either way here is a shot . Took her out for a shake down run , 30 miles ( the Old Man has a comtooter on His Diamond Back ) rides great !

Re:

Are those Simplex retrofriction gear levers? I rather thing that they are; nice!

You're going to need another project now!

Re:

Yeah , simplex shifters . Hmm another project , I'm already pushing it with 4 bikes , my old man was looking rather sideways at me when we got back and i was arranging them in order for the next ride out ! But maybe something interesting for a winter hack !!! Just thinking
