Couriers who collect/deliver whole bikes unpacked please

Re:

I didn't realise that anyone took unpacked bikes!
What do they do, just chuck it in the back of the van on top of the other stuff?

Pretty much, yeah.
One of our shippers at a previous job used to ship warranty stuff back to Germany.
would quite often have three or four bikes in the back of the van when he turned up at our stores. Collected from shops around the country, then tagged on to our delivery (which was generally 24hour urgent stuff, so anything to reduce the cost was welcomed!)

It's not worth the risk in my opinion. You might be better off asking another retrobike member if they could pick it up for you and box it, so that you can arrange to have it collected from them. I've done this a couple of times and it's worked well. RBers are a helpful bunch :D

Re: Re:

+1 I used them this week and had a chat with the chap that picked it up about it. Cover it in bubble wrap and you have a slim chance but as our learned colleague Mr BBB states ....why risk it. BBB's favorite courier is Yodel I've heard. :D 8)

Paisley freight won't take it un-boxed. I use them regularly

Re:

Cheers for the responses guys, thankfully the seller has relented and is now sending the bike packed, albeit at an exorbitant cost, still it's less hassle for me which is nice!. Matt
