They never seemed to grip on tight enough, I think the end caps weren't sharp enough. I had a set on my SS and the rear wheel was forever shifting under pressure (and I'm not a big chap or hard on bits), the cam wasn't too tough either, so by using the hope brass cam and the extra grippy hope end caps I had a super set of QRs that worked well and looked cool. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Cooks fan with 8 sets of cranks (6 on current bikes, two in storage), a stem, a seatpost, a few rings and two sets of qrs - even my modern bike is cooked up with cranks and QRs, but they're not perfect - they just look it 8)

I really liked the cooks stuff but the qr were the least of my problems although quick wheel removal is a bonus when racing, snapping 2 sets of cranks is never good! The importer wouldn't replace them either as he said I must be overweight or abusing them,at the time I weighed 10 stone and only raced cross country which is what they were marketed as being designed for,so XTR from then on,shame as the stuff still looks great.

I paid quite a bit for these, but they just happen to go very well with the following:

Pretty rare to find a complete set these days....

I also have a set in silver, but ur right, they don't lock out that well in comparison to others....just love the coolness of these things... 8) :)
