Perhaps you can grade us on how many we got right  (or more likely didn't get right)

Crayons, so you are saying a set of brakes cost almost as much as the new in thing of the era. RS MAG20

Probably more like £350 to £400 for the MAG20's, hence setting the prices for most forks of that level to come. MAG21's where about that much two years later.

But I always got my stuff trade

Doesn't matter - what did us mere mortals pay for them??

I will grade once there have been sufficient guesses!

Some stuff is less than you'd think - some is much more

Well I think i'll have to correct myself, while they may have been more later on, thinking back a little niggle says the they will have been £300, Manitou's where about £375 at that time I think.

Ooooh… I guess I was well off on the Atac stem then

This i just the kind of light relief I need at the moment. You might be right about the Mag20s by the way, I remember a mate getting some when the first came out and at the time I though how the hell could you afford that?? We were still at school doing our A-levels at that time if I recall – it might well have been a lot higher than £260 (I could barely get together enough for my next pint so anything more than a quid seemed unreachable to me

For comparison Specialized Future Shocks were £349.95 in Standard or Avenger fit and XT Thumshifters in 7spd were £42.95, not far off what some go for on ebay these days.......
