Hi
I would take the Shimano 600 rear wheel if you could check the cup and cone surfaces and make sure they are not pitted, as I suspect they may be from your comment that the bearings need adjustment...

Cheers

The rear hub will take an 8/9 speed cassette, or a 7 speed one with a spacer (that's how I used it).

I bought both of these wheels used and had a problem with the bearings on the rear one becoming tight in use. When I checked it out, I found there were no spanner flats on the drive side cone, and I couldn't work out how to get the locknut tightened properly.

I'm not sure if this is normal and I'm missing something, or if the cone has been replaced. I suppose you could hold the cone in a vice and tighten the locknut on this side, then do the other side on the wheel in the usual fashion. Either way, the problem's not with the cup/cone surfaces themselves - these are fine.

Incidentally, I'll do the wheels for £25 each or £45 for the pair if you can collect.
