Cleaning your bike if you live in a flat

Hello all.

I just went for my first muddy ride in a long long time and got completely caked in mud. which was awesome. However on returning home I had a dilemma. How the heck am I supposed to get the bike clean before I bring it into the flat. I ended up carrying the mop bucket downstairs and using a brush and lots of elbow grease to get rid of the mud. I had to go for another bucketful before the bike was clean enough to bring inside. I probably spent a good 45mins trying to get the thing clean enough to bring inside.

Do any of you have the same problem and if so whats your solution?

Re:

Hosepipe outside? Quick blast with a carwash hose close to home? Change all carpets to tiles and just wheel it in? If you can get it to the bath or shower without making a mess on the way, then just hose it off there

Re:

Leave cleaning stuff out ready before you ride. Buy a extra bucket to prevent multiple trips.

Or if you own a car buy a plug in pressure washer from CRC

Cant really run a hose unfortunately. I'd have to hang it out of my kitchen window, across the main entrance, and down the stairs from the lobby to the courtyard. What Im thinking of is to buy a cheap pressure washer and run the feed hose into a bucket, and like d8mok said, have multiple buckets ready before I leave.

Or...

But will it have enough pressure?

Re:

Try a portable hand pressurised sprayer as used for painting fences or check out a portable car washer.

Silly question, can't you leave it in the courtyard locked up till you are organised and arsed enough to clean it?

That's what I did.

Re:

Love the spec for the mobi -17,variable pressure . suitable for cleaning your dog or your mtb, following muddy walks/rides.
Our GSD loves water, chaos would soon ensue on our yard if i tried it
He is a big dog to say the least, weighing in at 44kg and he plays hard :D
