cinelli XA badge types

I know there are two (if not more) types of black badge for the cinelli XA stems. One type is smaller, hard plastic, and clips into the front of the stem. The other is slightly larger, more 'rubbery' in texture and is glued in place.

Does anyone know which type came first? When did the change from one type to another happen?

I've attached a couple of photos to show the difference, and a photo of the clip-in type badge.
