Chrome forks 700c

Hi

Looking for a decent set of 1" chrome forks, ideally Columbus or Reynolds, as light as possible. Must be for 700c. I currently have a pair of Tange forks and the brake calipers only just reach in in the lowest position so looking for something that fits better. Need to check steerer length but my frame is a 56cm ctc (traditional)

Have a nice set of Early Tange threaded, what would you want to check? Axle to crown and steerer length?

Thanks, the steerer needs to be 175, not too sure about axle to crown as my fork is also a tange and not original to the frame . I suspect it's for 27 as the calipers don't quite reach so not sure if this measurement is correct anyway ?

I'll measure steerer then if this is OK stick a 700c wheel in and a brake and see how it fits?

Steerer is only 153mm with 45mm of thread, so your's must be for a long head tube?

175 threaded seem excessive for a 56cm frame, the forks came from a 55cm frame have you had a measure up?

I just took the fork out and it's actually 184mm . This was originally in use with a nuovo record headset which is fairly tall, I've now got a tange headset with about 9mm of spacers so could go down to a slightly shorter steerer

Seat tube is 56cm ctc
