Electrical storms within the column of ash & smoke...

...which looks to me like something from an "end of the world" sci-fi movie.

Yeah, it's got a kind of eerie "H-bomb" quality about it -- rather like this one of Grimsvotn, the Icelandic volcano that's just blown its lid...
