Cheap outdoor bike storage ideas

Hi :P

I need a place to store some old bikes, nothing too good/valuable but would like them out of the rain.
Looking for something between a plastic/tarpaulin sheet and a proper wooden shed. This will free up some space in the 'proper' shed.

Just for the winter months, for want of a better description like a bus shelter but must be cheap and easy to build. Any ideas ?

If you have an existing shed, I would favour a lean to roof on the lee side. Perhaps with some canvas 'walls'.

3 sides of the shed are a no go :(

My shed is in the corner right up against our fence, the other side has our path, the only side I could use is the door side :) Some corrugated plastic ?

My Wife said the 'dreaded sentence' but surely you only need one bike

it sounds like you might already know what you want: take some timber and make a framework of 1x1s (hold them together with L clamps to get the angle then join them with decking screws) then cover it with canvas. An A-frame shape will probably resist wind better than a square box - either way, don't forget to use tent pegs to connect it to the ground. As long as you have a decent driver/drill the job should be easy.

Isn't it damp in a hole? I made a bike storage area at the side of my dad's. Over the space of a winter, it made the bikes hanging up there into single pieces of rust.

I think I will try making canvas sides to it this year.

Was easy enough to knock together.

I have 1 woman and 150 cars. See, women know this. Would you prefer your man coming home reeking of transmission fluid rather than cheap perfume?

Or as I put it :

I only need one woman too, and the other one is a better cook and better in bed.
... and that's when she broke up with me.
