Chains

Which chain do you guys buy new when you have to use it on a all NOS project?
So all blades are new?

KCNC ? Shimano? SRAM? KMC ?
I kinda like the KCNC gold chain,...

it's for a 8 speed but can i use a 9 speed chain?

Did you mean New " new" bikes or NOS old bikes :?:

I always use SRAM chains, I like the master link they come with.

if everything is NOS and period correct the chain should be as well, i.e. the one that was supposed to be used with the crank set and cassette/freewheel...

among the currentl 8spd chains the SRAM PC-68 and the Rohloff imho are the most retro looking ones

shimano hg90 for 8spd (that xt) only set me back a £10      9 spd hg93 and for simple speed what evers lying around at work that i can get my mitts on usually its hg70 links that i save when triming down new chains then join together for myself when i need it (got about 9 chains worth in a bag and loads of connecting pins)

HG91 and IG91 are both easy enough to find. IG91 are shinier.

yes,..it is a retro project and the rest is more or less NOS or at least in a good condition
i will give my LBS a call, what he has on stock,..the rest is finished and i want to get on the bike,..
