Chain rivet exteactor

Sorry to bother you all again, on what is a daft question.

I need to buy a chain splitter / rivet extractor

I purchased one ages ago, some cheapo job that broke after using it twice

Since I won't be using it much at all, especially if I buy a chain with a magic link, is it worth spending more than £2 or £3?

I need to ask the same question. I had a Cyclo one which broke a while back. The thing is, the more expensive ones are all chain breakers but don't look like they can put a chain back together. What exactly am I looking for?

Given my limited knowledge of modern things I might be wrong but I thought that modern chains had the pins peined over like a rivet and on breaking the chain they don't go back together. Hence the need to join them with a quick link.

All my chains (apart from my modern Basso which is 10 speed) are good old 3/32 and can be broken and rejoined at will.

I use a Rivoli chain tool but hear that the park mini brute is small and good.
