Chain Compatibility

Retro Newbie
Hi,

Just had the chain fail on my 10 speed Campag, was wondering if I need to replace with a 10 speed campag chain or i can use something else? also, heard that campag chains are tough to chain without the right (and expensive) chain tool.

would love to hear thoughts!

Re:

I went the other way, from KMC to Campag on my 10 speed groupsets a couple of years ago having stayed away from Campag initially for the same reason as you - that very expensive chain tool. There are cheaper versions than Campag's tool that claim to do the job though.
The Campag chains are quieter and shift just a little bit better. I use a KMC Campag-specific joining link to make life easier and avoid the expensive chain pin peening tool.
If you don't fancy the mix and match approach Spa Cycles have the KMC 10 speed chain in stock. https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s111p11 ... 6-links%29

Mark.
