Tidying up the shed last night (I'm convinced I can get more bikes in there, I just need to arrange them better) I found lurking at the back a NOS Phil Wood hub on a NOS Mavic Ceramic rim, as you do. It seems a shame not to use it and I have no plans for it so perhaps someone else can press it into service?

So, a silver Phil Wood non-disc cassette hub, the rim is a Mavic D521 Ceramic and the spokes are double butted stainless steel. I think it is a 32 but would need to confirm. Regardless it has never been used. There is no skewer.

Pricing this is tricky as they don't come up everyday. The hub is listed at Harris Cyclery as costing $360 which puts it slap bang into Chris King Classic Hub territory. The rim is a Mavic D521 Ceramic and they look like go for £50 - £62. Plus wheelbuilding (unless you do it yourself of course) and the wheel looks like it'll cost the best part of £240!

So, somewhat randomly, I'll say £140 posted (note a GT hub on the same rim is £110 from Chain Reaction Cycles - Phil Wood or GT, hmmmm) SOLD

I've also got a modern, black front Hope hub with a Mavic Ceramic rim (XC717 I think), NOS/unused and with black Hope skewer. Could make a mismatched pair with the above? £60 posted.

Finally I've got a pair of Mavic Ceramics (again XC717 I think) with brass nipples on XT cassette hubs. Hubs in good condition, some of the ceramic on the rims is pitting. No skewers. £70 posted for the pair.

I can do photos of all these later and confirm any details. All prices are UK postage, will happily ship outside the UK at cost. I'll post as soon as I get payment although may wait for a cheque to clear unless I know you really well! Collection from Hereford is of course welcome and I'll of course combine postage.

Thanks for your quick reply but I'll pass. Any other combo and I would have had it. Good luck with your sale. Some bargains to be had there. Regards T :)

Ohh ohh,
If the Phil's a 135mm cassette hub I'll take it! I'm just off on holiday but will check as often as I can so we can seal the deal.
Cheers Ed,
Matt
