Im trying to set up the comp on the FUNK,but with the front wheel being radial spoked the magnet needs to go quite near the centre of the wheel, therefore will be shifting past the magnet quicker, has anyone else got theirs set up like this as ill need to input the correct number to get correct speed calculations?

thanks

Input number is the same regardless of where on the wheel the magnet is.

It just triggers once per wheel revolution - the rolling circumference is what the input number is based on.
Actually, the nearer the centre it is the slower the magnet is travelling - not that this makes a blind bit of difference

No, it won't click past more. 1 wheel revolution is one revolution.

However , nearer the rim it has to go round a bigger circle so its speed is faster. Some computers can miss counts if the sensor is close to the rim.

At the moment the radius setting is at 216,havnt got any destructions so is this correct for a 26" wheel?

I think the actual value is in mm based on circumference. not sure but my pbrain is set to 2000 + which was a similar circumference to for my previous mity settings

I had one of those BITD. That´s a proper retro comp, mate.

If you use a 2.0 or 2.1 tyre, you should set it for 210. It´s the most common setup for these mtb tyres, without too much mathematics and without reseting the measure everytime you change tyres...

It looks to me that the setting is in cm. If you put your valve at the bottom of the wheel, and mark the floor where it is, move the bike forward until the valve is at the bottom again and mark it. Measure between the 2 marks to get the wheel circumference. Input this measurement, in cm, to the computer and it should be OK.

So's my Cateye ATC.

Set mine up the other week. With a Z max tyre it measured 207.

If you have problems with that magnet you could get one that fits a single spoke, probably more suitable for a radial wheel.
