Car selling dilemma

Just been offered £600 cash for my truck (L reg Isuzu Trooper Duty, LWB, 3.1TD manual)
Tax and MoT are up in October and Wife has to do a little work to get it through (hand brake cable, brake pads and the rear fogs stopped working for some reason)..

Paid £700 for it 2 1/2 years ago..

The dilemma.. I really like my truck and, with my current back pain, it's nicer to sit in than a car.. and we'd also need to source another vehicle, using just our £600, ASAP (hours, not days - well.. 2 days MAX..)...

BUT.. soon it's going to need tyres, 2 at least.. and there's a hole underneath that will need welding at some point.. and the rear dampers are pretty knack'd..
And it'll never be worth what we paid for it..

Is it a no-brainer and we should take the £600??

run off with the money screaming maniacally

''mine! All Mine!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA''

or words to that effect.

I agree, sell it and you need to source another vehicle, would it be in the same price bracket ?, in my experience anything sub £1000 needs money spent on it, my £400 L reg Polo has had £600 spent on it in the last year and a half but it's reliable, i like it so it's worth it.

We paid £700 for the Trooper.. since purchase have done, perhaps, £200 on it.. not including tax and mot's etc... obviously..

Wife does all the mechanic stuff on our cars, I sometimes get my hands dirty..

There is a possibility of a p/x with an S reg Vectra Estate (CDX, leather, aircon, auto, 2.5 V6).. I'd want the Vectra + £300 (possibly £200)..

Immediate reaction is to take the money since it's more than we could realistically expect to get if we put it up for sale..

But better the devil you know is quite a big thing too...

Got a couple of days to ponder.. Wife said she'd tell the fella after the weekend..

600 quid can get you a lot of car at the minute.

I don't think a cheap car necessarily needs cash spending on it. I've just got a 400 quid polo and its spot on. Have a look on ebay and trader and see what's about locally. You might even get a truck the same but better
