Cannondale F700 - SOLD

Retro Newbie
NOW SOLD

Handbuilt in the USA in 2000, this size 'large' Cannondale F700 has hydraulic disc brakes, Headshok Fatty front suspension and a lightweight CAAD3 aluminium frame with a classic geometry. It has been well used and although there is no structural damage there are many chips off the original Viper Red paintwork. But it is still a light and strong bike with wheels that are true with good tyres, and recently replaced brake shoes and cables. The saddle has some damage but is still comfortable and although the skeleton pedals have lost paint, they run freely with good bearings. The bottom bracket has no play and spins freely, as do the wheel hubs, however, the Headshok suspension and headset are a bit ‘crunchy’ – but you don’t feel it while riding and the bike still handles well and the suspension has full 70mm of sprung travel with oil damping and the ‘on the fly’ lockout works easily. The only work we’ve done is to replace the ‘boot’ protecting the Headshok front suspension.

The wear of twenty years good use on the trails is reflected in the asking price of £130 but this is still a very useable bike with vintage character that could make a rewarding renovation project. Collect from Lancaster UK.
