Can you actually weld carbon fiber?

no.you can weld metal lugs and bond the tubes in or loosley call bonding 'welding'...

Basically they've bonded either steel or alu ends into the carbon fibre and they're the bits that are welded.

We sold about 2000 of these bikes,no problems with any of them.My mate still rides a totally original one from around 1995.They are a steel frame,with carbon top tube,seat tube and down tube.The name is a bit misleading.

Very nice frames. That looks like a 19" which is too big for me.
