Ah, that old chestnut! I think there was one winter bitten pair that features heavily on a certain retro site, but essentially these hubs are the state of the (80's) art. My clubmate won a pair in the local road race champs and got then built into.a pair of SSC Blues. I can't remember being so absolutely envious of a single bit of cycling kit since! So gorgeous they make T shirts and mobile phone covers featuring the Sheriff Star. If ever there was an apogee in hub design its the Sheriff. NOS set of track hubs $1000 on well known auction site in July. Definitely an appreciating classic.

Yeah, but you can see the brake tracks are hammered, and likely the hubs too
Those are the Campag Victory version of the C Record Sheriff hubs, similar but more like Veloce vs Super Record in terms of quality..
