They are pretty, and sort-of nicely finished, but every example I've seen had a casting flaw on the top knuckle which kind of spoils the effect.
At least they worked well though.....oh wait.

I've got one of these myself, I think the casting flaw you're talking about is actually a very fine 'V ' shape, part of the actual design. A casting flaw, in campagnolo... Have you seen the video for their quality control!! They use microscopes for final inspection.

yeah the 'V' is the bit I'm talking about, on all the ones I've seen it's gone a bit awry/not properly defined, with a casting imperfection messing up the 'point' on the V. Seems a shame on an otherwise finely finished mech'

Nice one. I wonder if yours is a late version with new castings, or lots of hand finishing. So much subtle variation in Campag stuff, documented nowhere!

Good job you have got a late version, the earlier ones worked as well as poking the chain from cog to cog with a wet carrot!!
