Campagnol Track / Pista Cranks?

BITD we removed the support for the inner ring from the crank arms and called them "Pista", to my eye they did indeed look like Pista cranks. Might be a cheaper option.................

Also did the same for single chainringed TT Bikes LOL

I had already thought about doing that Shaun, getting the supports milled off is no problem, but to get the recesses for the C/Ring bolts put into the arms at the correct depth might prove to be a bit of a problem.
That might very well be the way I will eventually go, as this is for an old 24" wheel low pro SBDU frame I'm build up.

Hi

here is a pic of my double SR chainset turned into a single for my TT Bike :) Simply filed off the inner support :)

I ran this with a double 112mm Axle as the trend then was to not have any flattening of the chainstay and the short rear end meant the angle of the chainstay was quite acute. Quite a lot of people had to run a double axle on a "track" chainring on a TT bike..........

Exactly the problem I had on my Emperor Sport Shaun...

Campagnolo Pista BB resulted in grinding of chainring on the chainstay so had to go with a Campagnolo Double BB. By the look of the chainstay it may have been an issue to previous owners as well!

Steve.
