calling all sydney based members

howdy folks.

my friend is moving to your fair city very soon. she's concerned she doesnt know where to ride, doesnt really want to get lost and be eaten by a lion (you have lions right?) and she needs guidance for buying a cheap, very small bike when she gets there.

anyone willing to help?

I'm not in Sydney, but am about 3 hours down the road in Canberra so practically next door by Australian standards.

There is a healthy mountain bike scene down here with some great riding - and I'm sure Sydney is little different. I've never ridden up there, but I've heard good things about the the trails at Manly Dam and Ourimbar (which is a bit further out of the city). The local club for the Manly Dam trails is the Northern Beaches Mountain Biking Group - www.nobmob.com.

Other than this club (and I'm sure Google will find you others) my advice would be to seek out the assistance of her local bike shop when she lands as they're sure to know of some other trails or group rides that she can hook up with.

I know there are some quite active members on this site from Hobart and Melbourne, but I've not really noticed many from Sydney.
