Broken Yeti Kokopelli

I had one back in the day, the White Bros fork damper blew up on the way home from the shop and the frame got a massive dent in the downtube in the first week. I cut my losses pretty quickly with that bike. I reckon you could have squished the tubing by squeezing it between your thumb and index finger.

I remember when they were released. Like an “entry level” Yeti with a less chi chi tube set. Disappointing they were as fragile as ARCs.

Still - sounds like your bike must have been awesome, for as long as that first ride lasted!

I think the mainframe was the same as an ARC, just with a cheaper conventional rear end rather than the loopstay one tube job. I recall it riding nicely (possibly rose tinted) just those couple of things put me off the whole idea quite quickly.

Certainly looks a similar front end.

I’m not entirely unconvinced there isn’t a crack in the head tube too.

It’s a bit off to not mention the crack(s) in the advert but at least the pictures are there.

Head tube definitely looks cracked to me, you can see it in the second photo, I agree it's a bit off to not mention it at all.
This is the only surviving photo of mine, you can just about see what it is 😁 wish I still had photos of the full bike, it was pretty sweet looking back, just had a run of bad luck with it. To be fair, it was a lightweight XC frame and I had it built as a sort of early hardcore hardtail, it would probably have broken properly eventually! _20211230_105933.webp

Yeti did have a hardcore, racy reputation. Disappointing that they couldn’t withstand being ridden hard in reality.

That said, that Easton Varilite tube set was to blame - as in other well known boutique frames..

Updated pics and info added as a result of questions being asked (by someone on here perhaps?). Seat post out and secondary clamp removed to show the crack. No mention of other cracks though.
Still a tough ask at the opening price let alone the BIN IMHO.

Yeti bar looks nice though! :D
