British Eagle Touristique low rider rack attachments.

Retro Newbie
Can anyone advise on mid 80's British Eagle Touristique (531st) low rider attachment points for a Blackburn low rider rack (s).
The original 531 forks have an attachment eye on the outer side of the fork, but not on the inside. The rack needs to be attached on both sides of the fork.
Don't want to attach later/modern rack, trying to keep things mid 80's.

Do I get another eye inserted on both the inner forks....or get a braze-on on the front of both forks (next to the original eyes).....in order to mount the rack ?
Needless to say, the mounting hole on the dropout (next to the axle) is fine, but I need to secure each rack at all three points....and not just two !

Any constructive comments greatly appreciated.

Re:

Hi.

Funnily enough I was looking at this myself for the same reason - I think in the end there are two types of Blackburn low-rider? The sexier looking one (custom?) that needs two mid fork bosses and the plainer (non custom?) version which only needs one and would fit the Touristique.

Both are 'period correct'

I think therefore you need the non-custom version - or major surgery to the forks?

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I have the sexier looking original 80's Blackburn racks here (I think the later ones have Taiwan/CD stamped on the rear of the Blackburn logo).
In order to get it how I want it, I will have to get the two mid fork inner bosses added to supplement the original outer bosses already in position, the rack should then be 100% secure when attached.
