British Cycling membership anyone got any thoughts ?

not joined but looks ok. i joined my local club which gives me 10% at my lbs and 20% on any trek!

that looks a good deal though for the halfords stuff and the magazine subs alone would prob pay for itself

I've had it for years, simply for the third party and personal injury insurance. It is a bit pricier than it used to be but nobody else really compares. You need to join at the beginning of the year really, because it used to run until 31st December, rather than twelve months, so if you joined in say April you'd pay for a whole year but only get eight months benefit. This might have changed though. I get it as my Christmas pressy from my Mum, so she does all the paperwork.

I've signed up to be a Skyride leader, for the social rides, in the Newcastle under Lyme area. I have the training course in a couple of weeks, I'll see then what the British Cycling membership is all about.

Might well join this purely for the third party insurance, I spend more time on the road on my bike than in the car these days.

I went with the CTC membership, largely 'cos they actually do something (campaigning, rights officers, etc) for grass-roots cycling unlike the BCF who seem to just be interested in elite (road and track) racers.
