You can blame me for the switch in GT Edge Ti dropouts.

Originally they were horizontal and they switched to vertical partway thru the first run due to the driveside sliding forward under hard pedaling.

I called them about it and they recommended a steel skewers and a stronger one. Also serrating the axle end cap and the skewer end bell. I had already done that.
So I sent it back to them and they did a thin layer of weld on the face of the dropout so the skewer and axle endocarp would bite into the dropout.

It worked. Never had an issue since. I've had mine since 1994.

Nice collection. I also have an 853 frame we raced back in 1997/1998/1999.
