Brake Boosters

I've been thinking for a while about fitting a brake booster to the rear of my 91 Kona CC to gain a tiny bit more braking power & to reduce some frame flex as Kona fitted them as standard in 92 for this reason  Would it be worth fitting one to the front as well :? Now comes the main Q i've seen a few on ebay but they don't have the fitting kits. Can you get or make up the fitting kits ? I know i'll need longer bolts but it's the spacers i'm unsure on

I would think the front is the first place you would need one.
Not often your rear wouldn't be able to lock up as it looses grip far quicker.

The front is your main stopping brake. More so if you run sus forks especially the early 90's ones (and it helps them out as well).

It's not really power you gain though, more control of that power.

Anyways, longer bolt are easy to find either online or a local bolt/ironmonger should have some.

You will need some Aluminium tubing with the correct hole in the middle, then cut it to length to act as the spacing err spacer :)
Inner Diameter is just larger than the bolt thread diameter and should be a good 3 or 4mm or even thicker.

I just fitted one of my matching pair of Tektro brake boosters to my rear brakes, which are fitted with Suntour self energising cantis and wow, I have never had brakes so powerful, I am going to have to be careful with them till I get used to 'em

I had a booster on the front, the bike came with one from new, but I hadn't really thought of the rear until I saw how much the Pedersen self energising brakes made the brake bosses flex, now there is very little flex and I have some serious stopping power I would say as good as or even better than the V brake equipped bike I rode for a while a few years back.
