BOXing match

I bought some tasty cnc'd BOX levers from here a while back and have brought them out of the crate many times to fit to this build or that - but have they ever got past the 'sketch up' phase... no sir!!

Has anyone found a shifting system, bar and frame combination that does these levers justice - or are they destined to sit in the tasty spares box for ever...?

Please provide picture evidence if you have any!

Mr K

Has to be with gripshift on a titanium bike- how's about with Precision Billet and IRD switch-backs for extra bling:

guess they'd be nice on a manitou FS for both are massive CNC p*rn. right?
then again which year are they, the levers?

Levers are 1997 I think, each is stamped with a serial number as so few were made. As far as the Manitou FS, perfect match, CNC porn all the way. In fact most of the kit on this bike would suit a Manitou FS as so much of it is CNCed stuff!

Do those levers actually make contact with the grips when you brake?

They work perfectly with the gripshift (they were designed to), never had them touch the grips or foul any part on the bike

I've currently got a set of them Box levers on my 'Dale....I'll bend over now and take a flogging for fitting 'non period correct' levers onto a 1993 bike........ok now that's over with:

I have them on an NOS Syncros Pro Series bar from 1993, clear Yeti Speed Grips, XT thumbies and a polished NOS Syncros Cattleprod and they look ok. Maybe they are a bit BIG looking but I like them....will post some pix and then I can get humiliated publicly for putting '97 levers on a '93 bike

.

Pete, your Box's look to have bronze'ish finish in the photo, mine are very aluminium looking - how many finishes were there?

BTW do you have the matching brake on the rear too?

Mr K

Mine are the same as yours I reckon....very aluminium looking :)

Pix below before they went on the bike.>>>>
