Bontrager OR Race Lite 1991 frame

No, It's an OR

Earlier bike.

But didn't ORs come in Race and race lite versions...thought "OR" was a designation given to some of his bikes, not a model itself.

I need to go do some more reading...

It is confusing, not helped by the fact that OR appeared on the TT decal of the Race and Racelite. :D

They are all off road bikes, and show their lineage with that decal (like the CX). However, the OR was a model in its own right, and predates the other two.

when the Race and RL arrived the OR model designation was dropped.

OR giveaway is the horizontal dropouts, riveting / glueing , and bisected stays.

That one is a little later in to production, I'd say 90/91, as it's missing the pump bolt. The OR evolved quite a lot over it's production life, early ones being brazed, and mine's a hybrid braze and Tig model.

Here's my 'OR'

You can tell like mentioned when you look at the rear dropouts

Ah, I see...I think :?
haha, seriously though, I get it.

I have an orange Race in the reader's section, (well use to have; I've since traded it), and it had "OR" on the TT as you stated.

Is your ride in the reader's rides forum, Crell?

Nice blue one, Del :)

This is mine, currently stripped, awaiting me to decide whether to respray it or I'll rebuild it back to rigid and pop a salsa back on there.

Why respray it? Unless it's to respray it in the same color...love that Pewter color.

So Crell let me get this straight:

You own a silver Bonty, and a Funk. You are looking for a Machine tech rear? Oh and the Funk (box) fork?

You are really starting to creep me out.

Any seperated at birth stories?
