Yes, the original Bontrager fork is, perhaps, more rare than the cx frame itself. Is this one here fillet brazed?

Great frame, but strange build (and I like mustache bars)

I'm currently gatering parts for my bonty cx build
there's just so ittle info available on the earliest ones; I'm not quite sure how those early cx bikes were spec'd. Any suggestions?

I have an old Bontrager Cross bike. I am thinking of selling. The man himself Keith Bontrager, checked it out a race one day. He commented that even though they didn't make many, that they seem to last forever in part because people actually raced them during cross season and then rode other bikes during the rest of the year. This one is black with silver decals and the straight fork. They are rare and I can only find one other for sale at $1,500 asking price. Anybody know what it's really worth? It has nice wheels and a SACHS drive train and shifters. Thanks Tom 269-569-1026

production cx's came with a few different forks. same with with the custom FB bikes(way more interesting frames and forks imo)

my personal favorite cx forks for the early ones, can be found on both the FB monostay and A stay frames. sorry about the slick tire, I haven't glued some knobbies on yet

I sold an old FB cx frame and matching lugged crown'd fork, on ebay, not too long ago. Forgot what I got for it. Some where around $500. Shouldn't have sold it.

Bontrager Cyclocross CX Bike

I will try to post pics this weekend. I measured it from center of axle to top tube and its 55 CM to the top of the extension of the Seat tube it is 58.5 CM. I'm 6 foot and the bike is perfect.
