yes the rear is 24",they designed it like that so they could have shorter chainstays making the bike climb better.

Hey !
It's a 1988 SM600, the last bike C'dale built with a 24" wheel.
The brake levers are original diacompe AD290.

But what a pity about the crank, and shifters :where is the suntour XCD groupo ?

Mine is now restored :

I am now the proud owner of this Cannondale. Although it still rides ok, virtually every aspect of the bike needs some attention, it has had a full and interesting life!
I've got a better crankset in the pipeline, period but not correct and some XT thumbies to mount, the weird brake levers will stay. The green bars will be binned, but I may keep the stem, any 'dale experts out there know if this is the original bar/stem set-up. Seems doubtful to me but Cannondale did some strange things!
To keep costs down I intend to respray the frame myself. Can anyone tell me if aluminium frames require any special preparation before applying the top coat.

Cheers, Ken
