bike value for home insurance

hi all
i,ve changed my home insurance and the new insurers wants to know what my bikes are worth as is not what they were new.how do you calculate the value some one says half new price then £100 off per year.

What could you either sell them for today, or buy second hand replacements.

i dont know i think it would depend on the buyer the bikes are a 2000 gary fisher sugar3 and a 2006 gary fisher cake 2 .

surely if its half the price then minus £100 a year then a lot of retrobikes would be worth nothing?! so id say just guess what you could sell it for, at the highest price of course (to cover yourself) but the market is what the buyer thinks :?

That would mean every 2 grand year 2000 bike would be worth nothing. What a load of bollocks.
